What meeting with an SAO Case Advisor is like:

  1. The student is notified by OSSJA of suspected misconduct. The notification is usually through email.

  2. The Student seeks SAO’s help to obtain guidance and information about the Judicial Affairs process before their first meeting with OSSJA.

  3. The Student fills out the intake form located in our instagram bio (linkr.ee/sao.asucd) or on our website to get connected with a SAO Case Advisor.

  4. The Student meets with an SAO Advisor who can help them understand the Judicial Affairs process, inform them of their student rights, connect them to other resources, and assist with any case specific to their issues.

  5. SAO Case Advisors will take any necessary steps to help the student after the meeting (i.e. writing a letter of support, connecting with another on-campus resources, conducting policy research)

  6. An SAO Case Advisor can accompany a student to their first meeting with OSSJA in an advisory capacity (*The Student involved must speak for themselves throughout the meeting with OSSJA and Case Advisors are NOT attorneys)

  7. The case is either resolved in the informal meeting or sent to a formal hearing where an SAO Case Advisor can continue to provide resources
